While I was still working as a professional singer, I started writing for ENCORE MAGAZINE, which I co-published with Andrew Urban. A monthly trade magazine for entertainers, Encore filled a void in the industry. We sold it to Showcase in 1981 as it expanded and also covered theatre, film and music.
We launched URBAN CINEFILE in 1997 at the very beginning of the digital revolution. It was Australia’s first online movie magazine for which we won the prestigious Australian Financial Review/Telstra Australian Internet Awards for Arts & Entertainment. We syndicated our content to all the ISP as well as print publications. We were the first to create movie review content for mobile phones and achieved many firsts.
